We did a lot of driving today from Hayden valley to Lamar valley and back again. We saw 1 wolf, 2 black bears, 5 grizzly bears, and a beautiful golden eagle. The Park is so beautiful and green and the water is still high in the streams and rivers.
We enjoyed 2 days looking for bears and wolves. We saw 7 black bears, 11 grizzly bears- one was a pretty blonde, 16 wolves, the first elk calf we have seen this spring. A nice herd of 20 mule deer, lots of antelope, 7 bull elk together and their antlers look like they have grown 4-5 inches in a week. A pretty fox is shedding his winter coat. We are glad Dunraven Pass is open this weekend- saw a grizzly and her yearling cub.
Yellowstone Park is foggy and raining today and the snow is still melting. We experienced sudden but brief cloud bursts, cool breezes, beautiful billowing clouds and blue skies. The whole park is green and lush. We had fun viewing 10 black bears, 3 grizzly bears, 4 wolves, 2 moose and 1 coyote. There are numerous elk and antelope and the bison and their calves are everywhere.
Yellowstone Park is such a great place to view animals- four wolves, 10 grizzly bears, 13 black bears, 12 moose, 8 coyotes, 2 beaver plus mountain sheep, mountain goats, elk, antelope, deer, and lots of bison and their new calves. The rivers are running fast and muddy and the streams have turned into lakes. So warm, sunny and green. Beautiful birds too- prairie falcon, osprey, and red tailed hawk, sandhill cranes and varieties of ducks.
Fantastic viewing of 4 grizzly bears, 2 black bears, and 9 wolves - 8 of them from the Slough Pack. Bison and calves were plentiful, elk, white tail deer, antelope, big horn sheep are everywhere. Saw only one coyote. Red tail hawks, osprey, sandhill cranes, blue birds and many other small birds are enjoying the spring weather.
