Yellowstone Park April 17-20, 2008

It is opening weekend for automobile traffic in the Park. The elk and bison look haggard and gaunt due to the extreme winter conditions. It has been ten years since the Park has had so much snow. The west end of the park received an amazing 110 inches in March. Snow melt has been slow and snowstorms are still a common occurrence.
